I hired A Guy & A Hammer to renovate the kitchen in a house built in 1938. Needless to say, the walls and floors were not necessarily level and straight. Tim did a fantastic job of installing the cabinets and tile backsplash and disguising the room's flaws. He was very willing to incorporate my suggestions into the design. The area next to the refrigerator was unused because of the existence of a heat vent. Tim was able to install an upper and lower cabinet by redirecting the heat underneath the lower cabinet.
In addition to the new kitchen cabinets, Tim and his team removed an old chimney from a closet near the kitchen and converted it to a laundry area with a stackable washer and dryer.
They also installed a new bathroom floor with radiant heat and ceramic tile.
Finally, Tim discovered the floor on the front porch of the house was unsafe. He re-built it and created a screen porch which is the envy of the neighborhood.
I have a few more projects for the house, and you can be sure I will be calling "THE Guy with THE Hammer!
This project turned out to be quite complicated due to City Codes, but A Guy & A Hammer, LLC handled it very well. We started with and attached garage but had to change to a detached one do to space and other restrictions. We were given a straight forward estimate to start with and Tim made suggestions on the best way to do things. He worked with our budget and always presented any price or plan changes up front. Once we signed the price was as stated unless we both agreed to any changes. They were very professional and did quality work ,as well as the sub-contractors they hired. Every crew was professional and respectful to us. They arrived on time as stated that they would. The work was done on schedule and it was of excellent quality. Our neighbors and even the Building Inspector commented on the quality of the work. I highly recommend them and will hire them for any of our future projects.
Tim and his guys remodeled the bathroom in a 150 year old farmhouse. This meant lead abatement measures, moving a load-bearing wall and rearranging the ceiling vent, walls and the plumbing to fit the new but still small room. He used excellent plumbers and an electrician but did the rest of the work himself including tile, drywall, and the finishwork including a wood cabinet and built-in mirrored medicine chest. Answered my questions, helped with the decisions that needed to be made. Polite, prompt, called and emailed as needed. Always cleaned up after themselves. The work was expensive but worth it because it is a beautifully done professional job showing craftsmanship and some unique features. I love this new bathroom.
Prepped, primed and spray-painted kitchen cabinet doors. Installed new cabinet hardware and re-installed cabinet doors. All work was completed as promised, within the budget estimate and with excellent results. I have recommended this company to friends and family and I looking forward working with them again in the future.
First time getting a kitchen remodel and it turned out amazing, no longer ashamed of my kitchen. I worked with Tim Bader who was honest, helpful, and realistic with the budget i put forward. I would absolutely recommend Tim and his crew for their professional work quality and attitudes.
